UNDP in Iraq Today: Bolstering a Free Press, Encouraging Sustainable Peace
UNDP, as part of the UN-led International Election Assistance Team is providing technical assistance on media affairs to the Iraqi Independent High Election Commission (IHEC) as well as support to other national institutions.  This involves facilitating dialogue between election officials and media professionals on their respective rights and responsibilities regarding the electoral process and to raise public awareness of the role of the media in elections.

Advancing Gender Equality, Inclusive Growth in Timor Leste

UNDP is targeting the National Parliament in Timor Leste in a renewed bid to ensure that Asia´s newest state is grounded on gender equality and inclusive growth. The centerpiece of the new project is the Centro de Estudos de Genero (Gender Resource Center), an initiative of the Women Parliamentarians’ Caucus, which was launched this October.

On November 30th Hondurans will go to the polls for national and local primary elections. UNDP has been working with civil society and other partners to bolster transparency and provide technical electoral assistance.
