Aileen Cruz

Aileen Cruz graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University with a bachelor’s degree in International Politics and a Certificate in Asian Studies. She has interned with the Japan Chair of the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) and the Philippine Embassy in Washington, and she has worked in the Asia Foundation’s Manila office. A native of Manila, she speaks Engish, Tagalog, and Japanese. She plans to pursue a law degree. She enjoys reading fantasy and science fiction novels.

Rudy Perecin Mareno

Rudy Perecin Mareno

Rudy Perecin Mareno is pursuing a master’s degree in Public Administration in the Department of Public and International Affairs at George Mason University. He holds a cum laude bachelor’s degree from George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs in International Affairs and Latin American Studies. In 2007, he co-founded the nonprofit Inter-American Development Fund, where he is now Chairman of the Board. The Fund mobilizes money and people to build schools, libraries, hospitals, parks, museums, and other infrastructure projects in Latin American countries. He has interned at the Organization of American States (OAS) and is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French.

Philipp Orga

Philipp Orga is pursuing his master’s degree in International Politics at the School of International Service at American University in Washington, focusing on security and conflict resolution. He holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Geneva and the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris. He plans to work in the humanitarian sector. A native of Switzerland, he has lived and worked in Switzerland, Mexico, France, China, and the United States and is fluent in English, German, French, and Spanish. He also speaks conversational Mandarin. Also, Philipp is a huge tennis fan.

Ruzan Sarwar

Ruzan Sarwar is pursuing a master’s degree in Conflict Resolution at Georgetown University in Washington. She graduated summa cum laude from Stony Brook University in New York with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Ruzan—who has lived in Saudi Arabia, New York and Bangladesh—plans to work in international development and disaster relief and speaks English, Bengali, Hindi, and some Arabic. She is an aficionado of coffee and dresses.

Zach Hauser

Zach Hauser is pursuing his master's degree in Pubic Administration at The George Washington University in Washington, focusing on international development. He holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Kansas State University. He has worked in human capital and energy/environment arenas both in the United States and Africa. Zach plans to work in the international development sector. He is an avid fan of soccer and dark chocolate.
