National Human Development Report for Lebanon



In Beirut today, UNDP launched the fourth National Human Development Report for Lebanon – Toward a Citizen´s State
.

The report explores the relationship between citizens and the state, institutions, the constitution and the law. Toward a Citizen's State also focuses on socioeconomic rights, including rights to education, health and employment, addressing the issues of poverty and social exclusion.

In addition, the report includes a gender development index, which measures inequalities between men and women, and a gender empowerment measure, which focuses on women´s opportunities.
